Meet Emily

Dogs have been Emily’s passion since she was a little girl. Her formal journey in dog training began with competitive obedience in 2010 - the first year that the AKC opened their competitions up to mixed breed dogs! In 2011, Emily began teaching group obedience classes, which led her to explore increasingly complex behavior issues with clients. Helping people with their dogs has been her unwavering mission ever since.

With a desire to make training effective and humane, Emily turned to methods based on the scientific application of positive reinforcement. She saw how applying the science of learning along with common sense and compassion made a difference in the life of her clients and their companions.

In 2018, Emily passed the rigorous examination and educational requirements of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, earning the title of Certified Dog Behavior Consultant. Her background working with a wide array of different breeds and different behavior issues continues to benefit her clients today.

Emily also has extensive experience in dog sports that helps inform her approach. Her dog Blossom was the Protection Sport Association (PSA) 2016 Midwest Regional Champion, 2018  East Coast Regional Vice Champion, and competed/qualified at the National Level twice. She has also competed in obedience, rally, and dock diving, and has done herding training.

Above all else, helping people and dogs grow and improve together is Emily’s purpose. She is committed to giving honest advice, using practical methods, and having compassion for humans and dogs alike.
